In the Sixties: Illustrated
In 1962 Barry Miles was a student at Cheltenham art school. In 1969 he was running the Beatles’ Zapple label and living in New York’s Chelsea Hotel. In between, Miles was a major force in founding the UK’s counter-culture, and active in every significant underground event of the decade.
This expanded edition of In the Sixties illustrates Miles’ story using personal and long unseen images of London in the 1960s, including photographs and drawings from pre-Beatles Britain to the post-psychedelic era. Also included in this edition are sound recordings of interviews conducted by Miles with Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Pete Townshend in 1967, with Mick Jagger in 1968, and John Lennon in 1969—which was never published.

In the Sixties: The Interviews
Original, intimate and previously unreleased interviews with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Townshend and Mick Jagger from 1967 to 1969.
The Classic edition of In The Sixties comes with a free download of excerpts from Miles’ original personal interviews with Lennon, McCartney, Townshend and Jagger. The Collector’s signed edition includes over five hours of those interviews plus an extra one with George Harrison, on a Mac and PC-compatible data CD (plus download). These unique and unexpurgated interviews are taken directly from the original cassette tapes, and have been enhanced as much as possible, but retain some dropouts, clicks and unexpected interruptions. They are historical audio documents of a time when ‘superstars’ such as the Beatles and Stones could pop in to see their interviewer at home (as Jagger did in 1968), and be unguarded, frank, and open in their discussions.
